We wanted to set up this blog so our friends, family, complete strangers, and future PC Volunteers could keep track of our sure-to-be-wide-eyed adventures. We hope you will check back often for new entries and photos, ask us question, add comments and generally enjoy learning about Honduras - our new home!
For those of you who don't know us, but still care to read our blog, here's some basic info. We're both originally from Michigan (although Nicki grew up in Utah). We met at and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007, Nolan with a degree in mechanical engineering and Nicki in economics. Go Blue! Nicki received her masters from Virginia Tech in urban planning in 2009. We were married in October 2008.
At this very moment, we are tucked into Nolan's parents' basement in Grand Rapids, Michigan, anxiously awaiting our departure for Honduras on February 23rd. While we don't know exactly where we will be located we do know this: Nolan will be a water and sanitation engineer, designing and constructing much-needed water systems and Nicki will be a business advisor, helping develop small business capacity.
We'll let you know more as soon as we can!
